Don Purves

Don brings many unique talents to his work at SCA, starting with his experiences as a parent of a teenager that attended the program back in 2004. Through his own long, complex and difficult journey as a parent of a teen in trouble, he developed a passion for helping families in crisis. He was asked to join the board of a non-profit startup program in Colorado called "Solid Grounds", where he assisted in both fundraising and coaching parents and kids in crisis.

Prior to his career change, Don's background included work as a human resources manager, sales and marketing executive for several Fortune 100 companies in the high-technology industry, and board-level positions for several 501C3 non-profit organizations. Don has a BS in Marketing and is a certified professional life coach from the Hudson Institute in Santa Barbara, CA. Additionally, Don is nearing completion of his Master's Degree in Education with a focus in Counseling.
