Michael Wolff

Phase II & Phase III Coordinator

Michael WolffMichael has lived in the Taos community for the past 20 years, resulting in an extensive knowledge of the culture, people, and environmental diversity of Northern New Mexico. He has been with SCA for almost three years. He has worked at all three phases and has a thorough understanding of the program and how to work with each of these young men. From the day each student arrives at the ranch until commencement, Michael is involved in all aspects of each young man’s journey. Recovery, Therapy, and Life Skills are brought together in an elevated manner at Phases II and III, with a strong focus on Respect, Truth, Accountability, and Structure. As a fellow recovering substance abuser, Michael brings a unique and “drama free” perspective to his position. In Phases II and III, staff communication is a key factor in moving toward success for these young men. Michael insists that the Phase II and Phase III staff members stay well informed about each student’s situation every day and that they keep the lines of communication open at all times. When a student moves from Phase II to Phase III, there are no surprises. Michael makes sure all is communicated to the Director of SCA, Director of Operations, and the Director of Recovery and Therapeutic Services. Michael’s hands-on oversight and guidance for each individual student also includes internship placement and working with the Education Director in order to factor in student classes so that students may continue their education while in the program, if desired. He is also diligent about keeping an open line of communication with each student’s family, as he believes strongly in the importance of family participation throughout the recovery process.
