Sandy James

Sandy grew up in Northern Ohio and spent five years in West Virginia, dividing her time in the Mountain State between backpacking in the extensive wilderness there and attending graduate school, where she earned an MA in Counseling. In September 2007, Sandy received licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New Mexico.

Her experiences in mental health and social services include vocational training for adults with disabilities, working in an internationally renowned residential program for adults with autism, counselor in a number of community mental health agencies, and training in adventure-based counseling. She has also worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Taos, matching mentors with children in need of extra time and attention.

Sandy's adventures before moving to Taos included arranging trips for hikers and mule riders to the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
